For Accor’s luxury brands, Bleu & Associés designed a complete family journey, then brought the world of The Little Prince to life in Sofitel’s kids’ clubs.

Families often feel left out of luxury hospitality. Accor wanted to welcome them fully, at every step of their stay, without disturbing guests travelling without children. After all, today’s children are tomorrow’s guests.

Project 1 — The Family Journey
Welcoming families at every step
Our goal was to place families at the heart of the guest experience, from online booking to life at the resort. Every touchpoint was considered: arrival, shared spaces, rooms, restaurants and outdoor settings, whether by the sea or in the mountains.
From research to design
We began with an in-depth benchmark of international hospitality, exploring family travel trends, successful approaches and lessons learned, alongside Accor’s own experience.
This research informed a creative concept and strategic recommendations for the family offer, with particular attention to creating a memorable kids’ club experience. One overarching idea was then adapted to Fairmont’s mountain and coastal resorts.
We translated this vision into indoor and outdoor preliminary designs, combining sketches, 3D renderings and functional analysis, with a regulatory review approved by an inspection body. These proposals gave each hotel a framework for developing its own children’s services.
A shared philosophy
Every space was designed to offer children a meaningful journey throughout the day, with opportunities to play, grow and develop their skills. Safe, lively environments would welcome children and parents with the care expected of luxury hospitality, showcasing Accor’s savoir-faire and reassuring families. An ecological and humanist approach guided the overall vision.
The work was brought together in a digital design guideline, providing architects and hotel teams with a shared reference for future projects.

Project 2 — The Little Prince for Sofitel
Bringing the story into play
For Sofitel, we developed a storytelling concept inspired by The Little Prince, translating its world into preliminary designs for an indoor kids’ club and an outdoor play space.

An indoor journey
The kids’ club design guideline combined moodboards, an interpretation of the story and a zoning proposal. Creative descriptions defined the character of each area, from the welcome space to zones for movement, rest and immersion, giving the club a coherent narrative.

Extending the experience outdoors
A complementary outdoor guideline carried the storytelling into the open air. Moodboards and zoning proposals brought together movement areas tailored to different age groups, places to rest, immersive settings and opportunities to learn through play.

Families feel welcomed and considered at every stage of their stay. Children enjoy age-appropriate spaces that encourage movement, imagination, discovery and learning, while parents feel reassured by thoughtful design and the care given to their children’s experience. Sofitel’s kids’ clubs invite young guests to explore, connect and grow, creating shared holiday memories while allowing every guest to enjoy the comfort and tranquillity of a luxury resort.
