Project details
An iconic landmark inside the shopping centre
We partnered with Tigerplay to create a welcoming, fun and unique play space for children aged 4 to 12 in the heart of the SHOP PARK Cap Costières shopping centre. The play space served several strategic goals for the client, Mercialys:
- Create an iconic landmark within the shopping centre
- Boost family footfall
- Extend dwell time
- Improve the overall customer experience
- Differentiate Cap Costières from competing shopping centres
The project had to balance several factors: integration into a busy retail environment (a structure visually impactful yet functional in an unsupervised commercial space), a wide age range requiring play modules at different heights and difficulty levels, and technical complexity, as the structure reaches 6.2 m in height and required consulting the local inspection body for fabrication and certification.
Bleu & Associés and Tigerplay co-designed the project through a close collaboration spanning all phases: from consulting and design studies through to fabrication, certification and installation. Bleu & Associés led the creative vision and project management, while Tigerplay brought its technical and manufacturing expertise to bring the structure to life.
The city's emblem is built into the structure through the crocodile slide. The project took just over one year from the initial brief to the opening of the play space. Once the design was signed off and production began, Bleu & Associés and the client visited Tigerplay's workshops in the UK to oversee the fabrication of the structure.
