A lighthouse, waves and a deep blue from floor to ceiling: three sea-themed play areas at Les Terrasses du Port, in Marseille.

As part of the complete remodelling of the Les Terrasses du Port centre in Marseille, three bespoke play areas were designed and installed turnkey, on a sea theme, built by local partners. The aim: improve loyalty and the customer journey with an offer dedicated to families.

With Le Grand Bleu, we brought the sea into the shopping centre. Three play areas invite children to set sail on a playful crossing, between lighthouse and waves, without encroaching on the neighbouring shops.
The deep blue EPDM ceiling and floor link the three spaces like a single stretch of water. A lighthouse to climb, then slide down, becomes the landmark. Wave-shaped structures, light-up discs and tube phones complete the adventure.

The structures invite climbing, jumping and sliding: they develop motor skills, balance and coordination as well as free play. The light-up discs, tube phones and undulating floor stimulate the senses and the imagination, while the lighthouse lets children observe and explore.
