Raw wood, ropes and suspension bridges: a full-scale adventure playground inspired by treetop adventure parks, at Bordeaux Lac.

At the Bordeaux Lac shopping centre, the goal was to design an outdoor play area for children aged 3 to 12, including visible and invisible disabilities: a natural, durable and memorable space, in harmony with the existing landscaped environment.
The project includes significant technical constraints: an underground gas pipe, existing street furniture, an emergency exit to be preserved and a tree to be retained within the project. The installation complies with ERP and NF EN 1176 standards, is suited to high temperatures and is easy to maintain.

With the Adventurers' Forest, we imagined a true full-scale exploration ground, inspired by the world of treetop adventure parks. Three wooden towers linked by bridges form an iconic silhouette, the tallest rising to 7.50 metres, creating a strong landmark visible from the entrance to the site.
Raw wood, ropes and organic shapes structure an immersive course where children climb, cross and explore freely. A giant slide, a small slide, EPDM dunes that encourage movement and playful, educational play panels complete the course.

CSR is central to the approach: a mostly wooden structure, shock-absorbing wood chip flooring, integration of the existing tree and respect for the landscaped environment.
Designed as an inclusive, family-friendly space, the project enhances the centre's entrance while offering a spectacular, natural play experience.

Thank you Bleu & Associés, what a joy to see our play area taken over by children! Listening, professionalism, adaptability, responsiveness, mutual trust 👌 what a great collaboration!

The project develops active and fine motor skills, improves balance, coordination and fitness, and builds self-confidence and autonomy. It contributes to children's well-being through movement and outdoor play, promotes the inclusion of children with visible and invisible disabilities and offers a calming immersion in a natural world.
